How did the seed mats in Friday, December 11, 2009 Yankee Candle has Seed Mats on Sale work out? Thanks.
Not very good. But I believe it was my soil in that area. It is heavy clay and remains very wet after the snow melts. We've tried adding top soil and compost but it hasn't changed the soil at all.
I think if someone had great top soil with good drainage it would work just fine. We had sprouts but then it got hot out and dried right up even though we watered a lot.
I've seen do it yourself seed strips so I bet someone could do it with wild flower seeds. There really wasn't a lot of seeds on the strip.
